During the day I observed several pine finches,--a dark brown or brindlish bird, allied to the common yellowbird, which it much resembles in its manner and habits.
Among the permanent summer residents here (one might say city residents, as they seem more abundant in town than out), the yellow warbler or summer yellowbird is conspicuous.
