Charles Widor played once more, for the last time to the illustrious constructor, the grand organ which was the most beautiful conception of his life.
Born in 1857, at Fair Haven, Conn., he took up the study of the piano at the age of twelve, and at eighteen was in Berlin, studying there for more than two years with Löschorn, Rohde, Haupt, and Ehrlich, and then in Paris for two years under Guilmant, Fissot, and Widor.

Despite their entirely different characterisation of the child, and a much stronger grasp of the principles of decorative composition, these delightful designs are more nearly akin to those of Miss Kate Greenaway than are any others published in Europe or America.
Widor's "Ouverture Espagnol," Rameau's opera ballet "Les Indes Galantes," and Ten Brink's "Première Suite d'Orchestre," given by the Orchestral Club in Boston.
