The Neomenia, which is the beginning of the new moon, signified the enlightening of the primitive Church by Christ's preaching and miracles.
Neomenia, a representative genus (See Neomenia) + -oid.] (Zoöl.) Defn: A division of vermiform gastropod mollusks, without a shell, belonging to the Isopleura.
Hubrecht in 1881 of a typical molluscan radula and odontophore in a new genus _Proneomenia_, allied to _Neomenia_, showed that the whole group belonged to the Mollusca.
The Amphineura are divided into two orders: (1) the Polyplacophora, or Chitons; (2) the Aplacophora, or forms without shells, _Neomenia_, _Chaetoderma_ and their allies.
From this pass off two pairs of cords, the pleural and pedal, in _Proneomenia_ separate from their origin, in _Neomenia_ united at first and diverging at a pleural ganglion.
