When Peter Henlein invented the watch, using as the mainspring a coiled feather, he may not have made chronometers as exact as those turned out nowadays, but the "Nuremberg eggs"--so called from their place of origin and their shape, not a disk, but a sphere--were marvels of chasing and incrustation and jewelry.
The first watches, Nuremberg eggs, as they were called, were not made by Peter Henlein until well on into the next century.

This was perhaps not always so easy for Henlein either, and I know that the leaders of the Sudeten German Party could naturally approach and be received by other offices of the Reich; also Adolf Hitler himself, who was interested in this problem, occasionally received these leaders.
