While I think the story was well-written, and it makes a very good audiobook to listen to, Hutcheson is still up to his tricks.
That doesn't mean you won't enjoy the book just as much as you might have enjoyed "Martin Rattler." Best, as always, as an audiobook.
There are too many names to make an audiobook very easily, so we have not done so, and have no comments on that.
The book is fifty percent longer than the average novel, and takes about 18 hours for the audiobook to play.

I did an audiobook for 'Rough Crossings,' which I thought was one of the best books I had published. But it was an absolute embarrassment to read it. All these horrible mucked-up bits of syntax, over-the-top adjectives. I found myself editing it while reading. Alert listeners will notice the difference.
I think reading an audiobook is a real skill - for one thing, you have to be able to do impressions and voices, which I cannot do - and it's just not a skill I have.
