That of Utrecht was within the archiepiscopate of Cologne; the other three were within that of Rheims.
The disgrace and punishment under which the Archbishop fell so early in his archiepiscopate made this particular post easier than it would even otherwise have been; as fewer equipages were required when the Archbishop was confined to his house, and the establishment was yet further reduced.

The north-western tower was added probably during the archiepiscopate, if not by the munificence, of Archbishop George Nevill.
